CalcSwiss

About

CalcSwiss is an independent project with a simple goal: precise, free finance and tax calculators for Switzerland — no advertising, no data collection, no hidden brokerage interests.

Why CalcSwiss exists

Swiss taxes are complicated: 26 cantons, over 2,000 municipalities, each with its own schedules and multipliers. Good calculators exist, but many are either tied to a comparison portal with a brokerage interest or do not disclose how they calculate. We wanted an offering that does both differently: neutral and verifiable.

How we work

What we are not

CalcSwiss is neither a comparison portal, nor a bank, nor a tax-advisory firm. Our calculators provide a well-founded orientation but do not replace individual advice. Binding is always the official assessment by the competent tax authority. For larger decisions — relocation, retirement, capital withdrawal — consulting a professional is worthwhile.

How current is the data?

The calculators work with the tariffs and rates of the current tax year; every calculator page states its data snapshot in the footer. When an authority publishes new values — the multipliers of a new year, adjusted pillar 3a maximum amounts, new withholding tax tariffs — we update the affected data file, and with it every page that computes from it. The sources page lists the datasets in use with their retrieval dates in a table.
